The Inverted V is typically 4% shorter than a standard flat-top dipole due to the downward slope of its elements.
If using insulated wire, do not worry at all about having to adjust the calculations. The velocity factor is usually around 99%, and since we always need to adjust for the surrounding, it will not cause any major changes to the calculations.
✅ Tips
For HF dipoles: Use a 1:1 balun below this setup to prevent feedline radiation.
For VHF/UHF: Keep leads short and symmetrical for best performance.
For portable ops: Use lighter PVC (thin-wall) and wing nuts for quick disassembly.
